The Grand Rapids Steelheaders sends it deepest sympathy to the family of Dave Nowicki.

David J. Nowicki, aged 62, of Wyoming, passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, August 28, 2010. Dave was the President of Grand Rapids Chapter Michigan Steelheaders Assoc. He was an avid classic car enthusiast and was an owner of a 1970 Chevelle Malibu. He was preceded in death by his parents Leonard and Irene Nowicki and his beloved dog, Dusty. Surviving are his wife of 38 years, Virginia "Ginny" Nowicki; his children and grandchildren, Chad and Missy Nowicki (Hailey), Tina and Mike Catrell (Kelsey, Landen, Brady); mother-in-law, Florence Sperling; brother-in-law and sisters -in-law, Dick and Ginger Sperling , Darlene Ziegler. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Wednesday 11:00 am at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 3937 Wilson SW, Grandville, with Fr. Chris Rouech Celebrant. Interment Rosedale Memorial Park. Relatives and friends may meet the family Tuesday 2-4 and 6-9 pm at Matthysse-Kuiper-DeGraaf Funeral Home (Grandville), 4145 Chicago Drive where a vigil service will be held Tuesday at 8:30 pm. There will also be one hour of viewing prior to service at church. Those who wish may make memorial contributions to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.
