About Grand Rapids Steelheaders

The Grand Rapids Chapter is a family oriented club founded in March, 1976. Current membership consists of over 268 families who live in Grand Rampids and the surrounding area.

Our Chapter attracts a large number of people who help make it the learning place it is today. This group attracts serious fisherman as well as those who want to learn and get in on the action. Our focus is mainly fishing for Salmon and Trout in both the Great Lakes and rivers, however, most of out members also fish for other species as well.

The Chapter holds membership meetings the last Monday of each month. These are open to the public. At each meeting we discuss chapter business, fishing reports, feature guest speakers and have tackle raffles. They are held at Diamond Hall in Grand Rapid (see link at left)

Along with membership meeting the chapter holds many fishing tournaments, contests, and events throughout the year. We have a year long fishing contest, host a summer picnic, and Christmas party and hold chapter tournaments from Manistee to Lake Erie

The members of Grand Rapids Chapter do more than just fish, we sponsor and participate in many special programs and projecs. They include The Grand Rapids Steelheaders Foundation, Salmon in Schools Program, Net Pen Project and many more.
